Hello HAB Families,

As February nears to an end we would like to provide you with a few HAB updates.

Circle of Gifts: throughout the year students demonstrate HAB’s Circle of Gifts so that we can all learn & play together showing Courage, Compassion, Respect and Understanding. 

February is a perfect month to highlight Compassion.

• Valentine’s Day- students demonstrated friendship to their classmates and other’s throughout the school
• February 28th- Spirit Day: Students are welcome to wear Pink. Visit this video on Pink Shirt Day to learn more information.

Safety: We are all working together to provide a safe place for students during drop off & pick-up times. Please consider the follow ideas to help lower the traffic congestion at HAB:

• HUG & GO- There is no parking at the front of the school. Parents are encouraged to drop of their child so they can walk to their grade doors
• Walk a Block to School: parking a street away and walking to the school. Consider walking with friends and enjoying your conversation on the way to school
• Be a Friendly Neighbour: please do not block driveways and/or bus zones so that others can have a pleasant day
• No parking in Teacher Parking lot: we have many staff members who need to enter & exit the parking lot to be in front of students on time. Lunchroom supervisors have a different schedule and need to find parking.

School council: Come join us for our next School Council Meeting Thursday, February 23rd at 4:00pm-5:00pm

An email has been sent to all families to complete our School Engagement Survey. Your voice is important to us so please make time to take the survey with the link provided.
